UAE Launches Program to Develop 1,000 Technological Projects

The United Arab Emirates has launched a national program aimed at developing 1,000 technology projects to accelerate the pace of technological change in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.

The program includes the establishment of a National Center for Industrial Empowerment, with plans to export AED 15 billion (US$4 billion) worth of high-tech products from the emirate each year.

“Our goal is a paradigm shift in industrial automation.”

The Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, said in a tweet.

The program is in line with the country’s goal of making the country a global industrial hub by 2031.

Last year, the UAE launched an industrial strategy called Operation AED 300 billion, aiming to increase the industrial sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product from AED 133 billion in 2021 to AED 300 billion in 2031.
