Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini meets IMF director

On Tuesday, Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, the Minister of State in charge of Financial Affairs, met with Dr. Jihad Azour, director of the Middle East and Central.

The meeting, which took place in the Ministry of Finance HQ in Dubai, was a discussion of the challenges and opportunities facing those in the Middle East and North Africa region in light of recent global developments, as well as several questions and issues of shared importance.

This meeting was held in the presence of Ali Abdullah Sharafi, assistant undersecretary for MoF’s International Financial Relationship Sector at MoF, and Moza Saeed Almatrooshi, the head of the International Organisations Department at MoF. Assisting the IMF, the IMF was Ali Al Eyed, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV Consultations Mission Chief, as well as Francisco Parodi, assistant to the director Middle East and Central Asia Department.

During the meeting, both participants also discussed ways to enhance relations with the UAE and the IMF strategically, in addition to insisting on the need to keep up cooperation and coordination for different related events.

They will be discussing the upcoming World Governments Summit and the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which will take place in the UAE in 2023. In addition, there will be the annual and spring meetings held by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, in addition to ways to help and assist the IMF in capacity building.
