A hotel visitor who was forced to stay in a room with cockroaches and other insects sued the establishment, requesting Dh51,000 in damages.

In his case, the Arab man stated that he had reserved a room at a hotel in Abu Dhabi. He was shocked to see cockroaches and insects in the room he was given while staying at the hotel.

The guest mentioned that these insects caused his skin to get irritated over time. He claimed that he had suffered both material and spiritual harm and demanded compensation from the hotel.

He also filed documents with the court, including a complaint filed with hoteliers, photographs of bugs in hotel rooms, and a medical report confirming that he was treated for itchy skin.

A lawyer representing the hotel has submitted a reply claiming the case should be dropped due to lack of evidence. He also said it had been six years since the complaint had stayed at the hotel, but he hadn’t filed a lawsuit in that entire time.

After hearing all parties, the Abu Dhabi Family and Civil Court dismissed the case on the grounds of frivolity and lack of evidence.
